Seven Months Later...

Well, I'm still fat. I have lost since I posted last. I'm at 196 lbs and wearing a size 16 comfortably, and a 14 if I stand up most of the time and wear a baggy shirt. My biggest accomplishment lately is that I've started running. I'm doing a program called Couch to 5K or C25K. The website is here. I've completed week 1. It was harder than I thought it would be, but I did pretty good. I haven't ran in the last 4 days, and only because I've been so busy. I do have a new motivation to get busy and run more and more often. I have commited to running/walking a 5K in November. It's called the Harvest Hustle. You can see the info here. That gives me 6 more full weeks to "train". Basically, I have 6 weeks to be able to run more than a block without stopping. I am not crazy, I am fully aware that I will not be able to run 3 1/2 miles without stopping in 6 weeks, but I figure even if I have to walk most of it, it will be a good goal and for a good cause. I'm excited, and nervous. I don't really have any recent pictures of myself, but I can't post a blog post without a picture.. there is a law against that, isn't there?

Here are pictures from my sweet Great Grandpa's 90th Birthday Party...

and me coaching soccer...

Another really fast approaching goal is our family pictures. They're October 8th!! Eventhough I'm pretty sure no one reads this blog, I'll do better keeping up with it.. it helps me be accountable.

One Week

Friday was one week on my program. I've lost 3 lbs. I'm proud of myself. It was a hard fought 3 pounds. I watch The Biggest Loser, and I'm frustrated because I would love to lose the 14 pounds a week that some of them do. I'm fully aware that I live in the "normal" life and that is not "normal".

I have not lost any inches. I attribute the weight I have lost to water. I've really amped up my water intake, so I'm sure that is it. I did "work out" three times, but it's still not Biggest Loser style. I HAVE to figure out a way to work out hard while I'm working. I'm just so tired it is hard to break out of that rut. I will really be glad to have a normal schedule one day..hopefully sooner than later.

This spring weather we're getting a touch of this week is really making me want to get skinny. Also, volleyball is starting and that is even more motivation. I went to academy to look around at some "stuff and thangs" that I might need for this season, and I ran across THE shorts. These shorts are so cute. I've seen them o the same rack in academy, and on the same skinny girls at the gym for several years now. I want some, and more importantly, I want to be able to wear them without making the people walking behind me, gag.
Here they are... in my favorite color!

Nike Wicked Purple Print Women's Tempo Short

I'm also going to do something that I will probably regret. I'm posting current "fat" pictures... I know, I know! I usually delete any unflattering pictures of myself so there is no chance they will be seen. But, I figure, it can only get better from here. Aniston had my phone the other night and took a few pictures of me. I about passed out.... do I REALLY look like that. Surely it's a bad angle, or just a bad day, or maybe the way I'm sitting... But, come on. I'm FAT! It's ok, I need to quit telling myself different. I'm changing that, and I'm gonna be the skinny hot momma my hubby deserves someday. God love him for loving me in the mean time...

Well, here ya go!

Seriously... I can't believe I'm posting this... ahhh! This just makes me more motivated to lose the spare tire and I can't wait to post an "after" picture!

Zumba, Zumba, Zumba

I have successfully completed 3 Zumba classes. One at the Y and two at home on the Wii. My feet hurt, and my legs are sore... a good sore, but my feet hurt and its not a good hurt. Oh well, quit whining and get over it!

My eating has been ok this week. My schedule has been horrible this week so I haven't been planning very well. I did find out that I REALLY like Nutella. It's just plain yummy. I've had it on toast, apples, celery, graham crackers and pretzels.. all yummy! Now, it's not good for you, but compared to a Reeses, it's ok. It's a nice hit of chocolate to help you over a craving.

Also, I've been drinking lots of water this week. I've been keeping my Sonic cup after I drink my tea (unsweet, by the way). I will rinse it out and refill it with crushed ice and water. I drink it faster and more when I do this. Especially at work because we have the "sonic ice" machine. I wonder how much it would cost to have one of these installed at my house... in the garage of course!

Anywho.. my goal for the day.... yup, you guessed it..

Super Salad

Today, I had salad & water for lunch. Mal, my beautiful sister, and I have a long standing joke about Salad and Water. When we are at a resturant and we are trying to be cheap or healthy, we sarcastically say we are going to eat "salad and water". Well, this is not your average salad I had today. Let me break it down for you...

I cut up about 2 cups of lettuce, 1 medium cucumber and about 6 cherry tomatoes. These are all calorie free foods, or in Weight Watchers terms, "free". Plus, lettuce and cucumbers are mostly water, so your body takes more energy metabolizing them, thus burning calories. So, in my head and using "fat girl math", I just lost weight when I ate a bite of cucumber!

This makes a big salad.

I also added my "salad shakey" as my 4 year old calls it. It is one of my favorite products made! I use it on every salad I eat, and it is SO yummy! I even have some at work in my locker so I can make sure and always have it! It is a great low calorie option to bacon bits! There are 35 calories in each serving, which is 1 1/3 Tbsp. Two or three good shakes will do wonders!

I also found these beauties at United Marketstreet. They are so yummy, low calorie and add a great crunch and scoop for your salad. They only have 60 calories for 2 crackers, and they're huge (about 6 inches long).

And, because I can't give up my cheese, I add a little. I feel like I'm spoiling myself. Plus it's got calcium, right!? It's got 80 calories for 1/4 cup... not terrible.

One problem I've always had is dressing. I can't eat salad without dressing. And, as a rule I hate fat free dressings. A friend of mine suggested this... It's yummy, for fat free dressing. I use a lot too, especially on this big of a salad. I doubled the serving size. So, that will be 90 calories.

So, if you're keeping up... that is a total of 265 calories! And, I'm stuffed!

Here is the final product!

Another hint, if you use the loseit.com app, I built a "food" and called it Super Salad for 265 calories. Instead of having to add each ingredient itself, it's just one click.

I'm going to Zumba at 4:30... it's my first in awhile. Wish me luck!

A start....

Welcome, nice to see you again. I feel like it is official now, I am doing it.

Now that I've told the "world".. or actually the five or six people that read my blog.. (thanks Misty, Tanya, Mal, Shanan and Dad & Autumn)... I feel the need to perform because I hope you are all watching me. When you see me, ask me how much I've lost. Ask me if I've gone to the gym. And ask me what I had for dinner. Also, if I get a coke, tell my husband. That's what Aniston does. She tattles on me. It works!

So, I know you've heard it already, but my program includes..
Diet Management, Exercise, Reading,
Praying, and Blogging.

I'm also going to use pictures, to show my success. I did it to document my growing belly while carrying baby L, so why not do the opposite. Document my shrinking body. There are very few pictures of me right now. One of the few is this one.. it was taken last week when we were enjoying the snow.

Of course it doesn't show my greatest ASSet.

Today is almost over, and I've blown my diet for today. Pancakes for Ani this morning weren't a good choice. Oh, and for those that wanna know.. Turkey Bacon sucks. It just doesn't do it for me. I'd rather just not eat it at all. Tonight, daddy will be working late, so who knows what we'll have for dinner. Probably salad and a baked potato. Salad good, potato bad. Maybe I'll nix the butter to make it a little better. I've also got a few frozen chinese food meals I could make. Hmmmmm... we'll see. I have done one thing great today... I've already drank 52 oz of water, and only one glass of tea. I know this is very important to successful weight loss.. lots of water.

I was told about another blog that is helpful.. I can totally relate to her!

I've added a few helpful things on the right hand side of this page... feel free to visit them!
